Hess brings extensive experience in healthcare IT and business leadership
to enhance product development, customer service
Surgical Notes, a nationwide provider of revenue cycle services and solutions for the
ambulatory surgery center (ASC) and surgical hospital markets, announces
that Nathan Hess, who held technology and business leadership positions
at DaVita, American International Group, Dell and Perot Systems, has been
named chief technology officer. Hess brings more than 15 years of healthcare,
information technology, and business experience to Surgical Notes.
At Surgical Notes, Hess will use his expertise to ensure technology decisions
drive business growth and further strengthen the company's focus on
customer-oriented services. Hess will oversee all technology-related functions
for Surgical Notes, including product and project management, application
development and support, software quality assurance, implementations,
IT operations and infrastructure management, IT security and compliance,
and vendor management. Surgical Notes’ solutions include ScanChart
ASC, the ASC industry's leading chart automation and document management
solution; SNChart, a web-based transcription and management system; SNCoder,
full-service coding; and SNBilling, full-service revenue cycle management.

Hess most recently served as senior director of information technology
operational excellence for DaVita Rx. Prior to joining DaVita Rx, he was
a vice president of business operations for American International Group
(AIG) and held multiple leadership positions with Dell and Perot Systems.

Hess received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Texas Tech
University in Lubbock, with a major in management information systems.
He is pursuing a Master of Business Administration degree from the University
of Massachusetts Amherst.
