SURGICAL NOTES AND SHAREABLE INK PARTNER TO IMPROVE QUALITY DATA CAPTURE FOR PHYSICIANS IN AMBULATORY SURGERY CENTERS
New partnership offers clinical documentation solutions to ambulatory surgery
centers to support new regulation and healthcare reform
Dallas, TX and
Nashville, TN (February 20, 2014) –
Surgical Notes, a nationwide provider of transcription, coding, and document management
services for the ambulatory surgery center (ASC) and surgical hospital
markets, and Shareable Ink®, the enterprise cloud computing company
that transforms point-of-care clinical documentation to structured data
and analytics, announced a new strategic partnership, effective immediately.
The new partnership will allow physicians in ASCs the ability to immediately
enter information electronically preserving their fast, familiar workflows,
using Shareable Ink products as the front-end input for the Surgical Notes’
solution. They will now have the ability to effortlessly capture better
and higher quality data at the point of care by using the tools that they
are comfortable using, such as the digital pen and iPad. Once entered,
the data becomes actionable, because it can be used to improve quality
and financial performance.
Near-term plans include integration between Surgical Notes’ ScanChart,
a chart automation and document management tool, with Shareable Ink’s
natural input tools to keep clinicians productive, ASCs efficient, and
patients satisfied with streamlined communications. Additionally, Shareable
Ink’s new reporting tool, Insights, will be part of the integration
plans, which will help identify operational efficiencies at the facility
level, streamline and shorten the billing process, and prepare organizations
for accreditations and audits.
“We’re thrilled to enter into a partnership with Shareable
Ink. Shareable Ink offers an approach that is easy to use, keeps clinicians
productive, and serves as a logical extension to ScanChart,” said
Randy Bishop, Chief Operating Officer for Surgical Notes. “Leveraging
technologies to improve documentation and capture better quality data
at the point of care through existing workflows and then having immediate
access to reporting through the cloud, will address specific challenges
related to electronic medical records, HIPAA compliance, Internet applications,
and consolidation of multiple ASC and surgical hospital functions.”
“Our partnership with Surgical Notes opens the door to providing
a more robust suite of solutions to ASC physicians. By preserving existing
workflows with solutions that are immediate, effortless and actionable,
we believe ASCs will finally be able to adopt technology that meets both
the productivity needs of physicians and the reporting needs of the organization,”
said Laurie McGraw, President and CEO for Shareable Ink. “In the
face of new healthcare reform and increased financial pressures, our combined
solutions will provide immediate access to data and empower ASC physicians
to make better decisions around patient care and operational efficiencies.”
