Jeffery C. Blankinship, a resident of Dallas, TX, has been in the healthcare
industry for 30 years, following his graduation from Southern Methodist
University. Mr. Blankinship began his career in Southern California, establishing
a network of industrial medical facilities which evolved into one of the
first networks of pain management centers throughout the west coast. Upon
returning to Dallas, he became involved with the home health care industry,
physician practice management, pain management, and the ambulatory surgical
business. In 1997, Surgical Notes was created to address the pain points
related to digital medical records for the ambulatory surgery center and
surgical hospital markets. Surgical Notes is one of the preeminent nationwide
providers of transcription, coding, medical records, billing & collections,
and electronic health record software solutions and services for the ASC industry.
Mr. Blankinship is also a principal and founder of Surgical Funds, offering
a portfolio of lending solutions for healthcare providers and consumers
and is also a principal in Surgical Captive, an 831b Captive Insurance
Company that offers captive insurance solutions. Mr. Blankinship also
founded the Surgery Center Network (SCN) in 2012. SCN was developed to
educate self-insured employers, health plan and third-party administrators,
and consumers about the role and value that ASCs and surgical hospitals
play in the health care delivery system and to bring these groups together
to improve the quality of care and reduce the high cost of healthcare
throughout the country. Mr. Blankinship has been actively involved in
many state ASC associations, both as a member and as a board member, and
currently sits on the national ASCA Political Action Committee in Washington
D.C. Mr. Blankinship is married and has three boys ages 24, 18 and 16.
Chief Operating Officer of Surgical Notes, Randy has been the Executive
Leader for Surgical Notes for the past 8 years. He has been instrumental
in developing the Surgical Notes’ brand, growing market share, and
expanding the cutting-edge products and services designed exclusively
for the ASC Industry.
Randy is also a partner at VisionCap Investments, a company that makes
mezzanine debt and preferred equity investments in, and provides financial
intermediary services to, middle market businesses.
Randy is a graduate of the McCombs Business School at the University of
Texas at Austin and resides in Dallas, Texas with his family.
Chuck Meisel, a 21-year healthcare veteran, has recently been appointed
vice president of sales for Surgical Notes. Chuck’s extensive experience
in the ASC setting provides him with an expert point of view of the specialized
tools available to assist ambulatory surgery centers in running more efficiently
and more profitably in the ever changing healthcare industry. Prior to
joining Surgical Notes, Chuck most recently served as vice president of
business development and VP of sales for Poplar Healthcare, a physician-owned
pathology laboratory services company.
Prior to joining Poplar, he was the VP of sales in the ASC division of
health information technology company ProVation Medical, ASC sales director
and national accounts director for McKesson Medical-Surgical, and national
accounts director for medical device and pharmaceutical company B. Braun
Medical. He served with the U.S. Army as an Army Ranger and Green Beret
prior to beginning his work in healthcare and lives with his family in
Castle Rock, CO.
